Case study: Mazuma Mobile
The brief
When we first started working with Mazuma Mobile, the original brief was predominantly B2C. Our remit was to address the lack of awareness of mobile phone recycling, create a call for action to encourage consumers to view their discarded mobile phones as a potential source of cash and position Mazuma as the best and most trusted service providers in the industry. A second tier objective was to position Mazuma as the industry voice for recycling in the mobile ecosystem. In addition to this, we were also tasked with building and maintaining Mazuma’s Facebook and Twitter pages. |
What we did
We executed a comprehensive programme of consumer media outreach, educating consumers on the process of recycling mobile phones and positioning the brand as providing the best service in the industry. In addition, we have positioned Mazuma as the industry champion on issues affecting the industry and consumers such as the environment, data protection and prevention of mobile phone theft. We also advise Mazuma on the management and use of its successful Facebook fa page and website.

The results
Our work led to Mazuma Mobile being featured on BBC Breakfast, Sky News, The Daily Telegraph, BBC Radio 4’s Consumer Affairs programme You and Yours, and BBC’s The One Show. Today Mazuma’s Managing Director, Charlo Carabott, is the go-to for journalists looking for comment and opinions on mobile phone recycling. We have also grown the Facebook page to over 10,000 users who are highly engaged through competitions, polls and other activities.
